I used to write a blog. Well, I'm back, at least for today. I don't know why I haven't posted in such a long time. I kept up with it during my summer holiday when it wasn't always easy to post because of slow Internet hook-ups, making the time, etc. But, on arriving home where it's easy to post, I just haven't felt inspired. I think perhaps I had such a good time during the summer that the mundanity of it all here left me feeling dry. Anyway, A lot has happened (despite the mundanity of it all) in the last three months, so I'll relate some of that now.
First of all, yes, I made it to the Galapagos, despite having severe diarrhea the day before. I spent the day before the trip in hospital instead of preparing for the trip, but it all turned out well. Actually, it turned out fantastic. The Galapagos is the trip of a lifetime. Yes, it's expensive, but if you ever get the chance to go, do it. I've posted the pictures and will try and clean them up a bit in the near future.
Secondly, I visited Nepal last week. I've been wanting to go to Nepal ever since I met a guy in Taiwan ten years ago who had been working there for a year. His descriptions of the place were very exciting. Unfortunately, the prime season for visiting Nepal (October - November) when it's not raining, snowing or too hot and my holiday seasons haven't ever coincided until this year. It was well worth the wait. It's a beautiful place and I plan on going again next October (if our university gives us ample warning for the Eid holiday). Pictures will be posted in a few days.
Last, (and probably least), I won the Halloween costume contest again. Though I'm happy to win (and my costume was inspired if I can say so myself), the victory was a bit hollow as there really wasn't any competition. Last year so many people wore great costumes, but this year it seemed everyone just threw something on at the last minute. I'll post a picture soon.
I've also changed my music delivery service, so it should be easier to use. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Arabic, North African rai and have picked up some new stuff from Bombay. Get it up as soon as I can.
So, I now have at least three things to post about. Got to keep the momentum going, but at the moment I have to go to work. This is exam week and we have exam duties for two weekends. It sucks, but really can't complain after the long Eid holiday.
Talk later, I promise.
