Well, I saw Domino last night. It wasn't terrible, but the best thing that I can say about the movie was it was diverting. It's, theoretically, at least, a true story of Domino Harvey, a sexy bounty hunter played by Keira Knightly. It's a very stylized production, in fact, it's all style and very little substance. Full of snappy editing, nonlinear action, underlit and grainy shots (all the actors have pores as big as my fist), action scenes where it was pretty much impossible to follow what was happening and a plot so convoluted that I could have used a synopsis to figure it out. It's pretty violent at parts and one scene in particular made me want to look away. The whole thing is referential to other genres, movies, TV shows, etc. - very postmodern, huh? It felt like a long MTV video. But, I did like the soundtrack (which I couldn't find online) full of hip-hop, golden oldies and a couple of Tom Waites songs. He even makes a bit of a ridiculous cameo as one of his songs is playing where he plays a prophet-like character. Like I said, it's diverting and if you can handle MTV for 90 minutes, you might enjoy the movie. My friend loved it.
